HOMEMADE SOAPS!

We began making our own soap about 5 years ago when one of our children developed extreme food allergies which negatively affected his skin. We designed a soap just for him, called “Winter’s Bar” made from very conditioning oils and medicinal essential oils to promote healing. Our friends were interested in purchasing this luxurious soap for their families, but due to the high cost of the oils required, it was often prohibitive. We did sell a few of them to others who were also suffering from eczema and skin irritations, but we decided to develop a low-cost conditioning bar that was affordable for most families.

Our very popular, Gardener’s soap, is made with this base recipe of Olive, Coconut, Canola and Castor oils.  To this is added brewed coffee. Coffee is known to remove odors, and this bar is and great for use in the kitchen after handling fish and onions.  We also add coffee grounds, which makes this bar a great scrub for getting garden or garage grime off your hands. This bar sells for $2.00.

We can custom-make almost any type of soap that you desire with oils that are available naturally, such as tea tree, patchouli, peppermint, lavender and more. We can also use a different base recipe, such as pure Olive Oil or any combination of oils to meet your special needs.  If you are interested, a minimum purchase is necessary to cover the costs of making one batch.  So, for $20 or less, we will custom make a batch just for you.  This can be picked up at the farmers’ market in Brookville or by special arrangement.
